2017 JH Performance Boat Owners' Tournament Rules

  1. All entrants must fish from a JH Performance boat.
  2. An entry fee of $225 will be charged per team. $75 per person over 3 people. Max of 5 people per team. ($25 will be charged for kids 15 and under)  All entry fees are non-refundable. The $25/$75 entry fee includes tournament entry,  dinner Friday and Saturday night, 5 raffle tickets, and goodie bag (hat, t-shirt, koozie, etc).
  3. Tournament sign up closes 8:00pm Friday October 21, 2016.
  4. All teams must check in with the tournament director at the Matagorda Harbor Bait & Tackle on Saturday October 22, 2016. Check in opens at 5:45am. No fishing lines or team members out of the boat until after the team has checked in at the Matagorda Harbor. All boats and team members must depart from the Matagorda Harbor the morning of the tournament.
  5. All entrants must fish within plain eyesight of their designated JH Performance boat.
  6. All fish must be caught on rod and reel with strict adherence to federal, state, and local laws, as well as, Texas Parks and Wildlife fishing and boating regulations.
  7. Live bait, dead bait, and artificial lures may be used.
  8. Fishing guides are welcome to participate but must be paid members of the team.
  9. All fish being submitted for tournament must be of legal size – no oversized or tagged redfish allowed.
  10. All fish being weighed must be caught after team leaves from the Matagorda Harbor the morning of October 22, 2016. No culling of dead fish allowed.
  11. No fish may be accepted from or given to another team.
  12. Weigh in will be held at the Matagorda Harbor on Saturday October 22, from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Any entrant who is not at the line at the scales before 4:00pm will not be permitted to weigh their fish.
  13. In the event of a boat breakdown, the tournament director must be notified by 4:00pm.
  14. The weighmaster and tournament director have final decision on validity of fish.
  15. Fish will be weighed on one scale and will only be weighed once- no re-weighs, no exceptions.
  16. A fish may only be used for one category. Once a fish is measured and weighed, there will be no exchanging of fish.
  17. No altered or mutilated fish will be allowed. Fish will be inspected for alterations in size, length, and weight.
  18. In the event of a tie, the team/individual that weighs in first will win.
  19. Polygraph tests may be administered to any team member at any time.  All entrants must be present to take a polygraph. If any entrant is not available or capable (i.e. intoxicated) to be tested, the entire team may be disqualified.
  20. Sponsors, organizers, and other entities involved in the tournament are not responsible for any accident, injury, nor loss, damage, or theft to any property.

Categories are as follows - and will be weighed in the following order:

Individual Side Pots - $20 each (optional)
Johnson Fiberglass Spot Pot - redfish with the most spots
Spots must be bigger than a pencil eraser to count. Validity of spots will be determined by weighmaster/ tournament director.
Evinrude's Blackjack Trout - trout closest to 21”
Fish will be measured closest to 21” and under. Any fish measuring above 21” will be disqualified.
Heaviest Flounder
Ameristar Roofing Heaviest Speckled Trout
Kids' Heaviest Fish - any species caught on rod and reel (15 and younger)
